SUMMARY:Introduction to Zen Meditation (free)
DESCRIPTION:The basics of Zen meditation are taught at no charge by members of the Nienfo Chan Order of Buddhist Monks. Reservations are not required. \nThe session consists of instruction in seated and walking Zen meditation\, an explanation of the group practice format\, and a period of actual Zen meditation practice. \nA discussion of Zen history and philosophy is also included\, and instructors are happy to answer any questions. \nParticipants should wear clothing that is comfortable and fits loosely. Tight jeans or other clothing that binds the legs should be avoided if at all possible. \nHaving attended an introductory session\, one may begin to participate in Tuesday\, Saturday and Sunday Zen Meditation sessions. \nThere is no charge for the class but donations are greatly appreciated.

DESCRIPTION:The Qigong class begins shortly after morning Zen meditation and consists of 60 minutes of Qigong internal energy exercises and meditations conducted in a relaxed atmosphere.\n\n					\n				Qigong exercises strengthen the muscles and sinews\, boost the immune system and help one to regulate the body’s internal energy for purposes of health\, longevity and spirituality.\n\n					\n				Qigong is a valuable adjunct to Zen meditation practice but can also be a stand-alone practice for those who do not study or practice Zen.
